Staying on a floating cottage

  • Miniboras are designed to accommodate from two to four people. Upstairs, you'll find an open-plan bedroom with a king-size bed, while on the first floor, modular sofas can be assembled to form two single beds or a double bed.

    Boravilla, located in the Eastern Townships, can accommodate up to 6 people. Upstairs, you'll find an open-plan bedroom with a double bed, while on the first floor, a sofa that converts into a bunk bed is available, in addition to modular sofas, allowing you to form two single beds or a double bed.

    Please note that there are no closed rooms in our cottages. They are open-plan spaces, offering a friendly, spacious atmosphere.

  • Cottages are available from 4 p.m. on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11 a.m. on the day of departure.

    If you wish to arrive earlier or leave later, you can add an Early Arrival or Late Departure supplement for $40 each, allowing arrival at 3 pm and departure at 1 pm respectively.   • Yes, we are happy to accommodate your pet in our cottages, for an additional fee of $100 (Minibora) or $130 (Boravilla). You can add this option at the time of booking or up to up to 48 hours before your arrival bythis link.

    We also ask you to follow certain instructions.

    • It is not permitted to go into the common areas with your pet.

    • In the chalet, it must remain on the floor, without climbing onto armchairs, benches or beds.

    • It must be supervised at all times and not left unattended.

    • All excrement must be collected immediately.

  • Our floating cottages offer a self-contained, eco-friendly experience. Each cottage is equipped with an environmentally-friendly compostable toilet.

    Although there are no showers in the accommodation, you can enjoy full facilities, including showers (towels provided) and toilets, as well as a relaxation area, at the Pavillon l'espace temps.

  • Our cottages are solar-powered, allowing us to minimize our environmental footprint.

    For your convenience, we provide two USB and USB-C sockets for charging your electronic devices: one on the mezzanine, next to the bed, and another on the side of the dining bench in the Minibora, and at the entrance under the shelf in the Boravilla.

    If you need to plug a device into a 110V outlet, you can rent a rent a nomad battery.

  • Our floating cottages offer a self-contained, eco-friendly experience.

    Each chalet is equipped with a 72-liter drinking water supply (2X 18L under the sink, and 2X 18L at the entrance) for 2 nights, specially dedicated to drinking and cooking.

    If you need more water, just give us a call on the telephone number given.

    For washing up, we recommend heating the water on the stove, then soaking the dishes in the sink for added convenience.

  • You'll find a wood-burning fireplace for a cosy atmosphere and two propane heaters for optimum thermal comfort.

  • You'll find everything you need to sleep well and enjoy your stay: bedding, pillows, shower towels, toilet paper, tissues, clean water, wood, firelighters. Outdoor chairs are available in summer and winter, either near your chalet or in the common areas. What's more, we provide a range of outdoor equipment to enhance your stay, including kayaks and paddleboards in summer, and snowshoes in winter.

  • The kitchen is equipped with a small refrigerator, two cooking rings or a gas camping stove and a BBQ directly on the balcony. In addition, the wood-burning stove is equipped with a cooking grate. You'll also find the following accessories: utensils, pots, pans, crockery, fondue set, kettle, Bodum, ground coffee, tea, olive oil, sugar, salt and pepper. There's even milk for coffee!

  • Bora Boréal offers mini-homes in the heart of nature, where pleasure and tranquility are at the heart of the experience. Being located in the heart of the mountain, no wireless network connection is possible in the Quebec cottages. However, the cellular network connection is always reliable at the lodge.

    In the Eastern Townships, if you need Internet access during your stay, it's possible! You'll find access codes in your cottage. However, network stability may vary.

    In Quebec City, please note that there are two floating cottages, positioned opposite each other to ensure greater privacy.

  • If you've reserved at Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval, near Quebec City, parking is at your cottage door in summer. In winter, parking is available at the entrance pavilion. It's a five-minute walk to your floating cottage. A sled is provided for easy transport of your luggage.

    In the Eastern Townships, whatever the season, park near the L'espace temps pavilion (P1), with the exception of the floating cottages on the other side of the lake. If you're staying in the Boravilla "La terra" or the Minibora "Le beaumier", a second parking area (P2) has been set up close to your accommodation.

  • Depending on the season, a range of equipment is available to help you transport your luggage to your floating chalet, just a few minutes' walk away.

    In winter, you'll have access to snowshoes and sledges, while in summer you can use a wheeled cart.

  • Yes, a charging station is available at each of our sites, close to the pavilion. They are rated at 240v and 30 amps, giving around 40 km of charge per hour, and charge at a rate of $2/hour.

  • The trails are lit, but if you arrive after dark, we still recommend a headlamp or flashlight to light your way around the site.

On-site and nearby activities

  • Yes, wood and firelighters for indoor and outdoor fireplaces are included in the price, so you can warm up as much as you like.

  • In the Eastern Townships, you'll find three thermal baths to recharge your batteries after a busy day.

  • Just your personal belongings, a beach towel and your bathing suit for a dip in the lake or in the thermal baths of the Eastern Townships.

    To ensure your comfort, we recommend that you bring slippers, a bathrobe and sandals for walking around the Pavilion.

    If you arrive after dark, although the trails are illuminated, we recommend a headlamp or flashlight to light your way around the site.

    Please note that, to protect the lake from invasive aquatic species, only Bora Boréal boats are authorized. Life jackets for adults and children are also available.

  • The boats are available free of charge to guests of the floating cottages during the summer season, which generally runs from early June to mid-October.

    This period offers milder weather conditions and ideal water temperatures, so you can enjoy your experience in complete safety.

  • To protect the lake's ecosystem from invasive aquatic species, only Bora Boréal boats, including kayaks and paddleboards, are authorized. These boats are available at no extra charge and without prior reservation.

    Life jackets for adults and children are also available to ensure your safety and peace of mind during your experience on the water.

  • Yes, you can fish in the lake! However, please note that it's important to respect Quebec's fishing regulations, which include obtaining the appropriate fishing permit.

    You're free to fish from your cottage or directly on the lake.

  • Simply your personal belongings and equipment for activities in the area! We recommend that you bring slippers to ensure your comfort during your stay.

    Snowshoes are available to help you enjoy the magnificent territory (for adults only). Shovels are provided at each chalet, so if you wish, you can clear a portion of the lake of snow and skate on it. However, for weather reasons, we cannot guarantee ice conditions.

    If you have booked a stay at Bora Boréal Eastern Townships, we recommend that you bring a bathing suit, bathrobe and sandals to enjoy a moment of relaxation at the L'espace temps pavilion and thermal baths.

  • Yes, absolutely! We provide snowshoes free of charge for our customers during the winter season.

    We want to make sure you can enjoy your stay exploring the snowy surroundings in comfort and safety.

Reservation policy

  • At Bora Boréal, we don't have a fixed price list. Our prices vary from $349 to $450 on average for a Minibora and from $399 to $550 for a Boravilla, depending on the reservation period, length of stay and availability. Last-minute and weekday stays are generally the most economical.

  • Our reservation policy requires a minimum of 2 nights during weekends and school vacations . For weekends with public holidays, the minimum stay is 3 nights. You can therefore enjoy a one-night stay from Sunday to Friday outside the above-mentioned periods.

    Please note: if a chalet is available five days before the arrival date, our reservation system allows last-minute rentals for a single night , regardless of the day of the week.

  • If you need to postpone your stay, you can do so for a fee, subject to chalet availability. If the new dates entail higher costs, you will also have to cover the difference.

    The handling fee is $50 for changes made more than 30 days before the reservation date, and 50% of the total cost of the reservation for changes made between 15 and 30 days before the arrival date.

    No changes can be made within 14 days of booking, but you can transfer your stay to another person free of charge.

  • You can cancel a booking up to 15 days before the arrival date, but payments made are non-refundable.

    No cancellations are permitted less than 14 days before the start of your stay. However, you can transfer your reservation to another person free of charge.

  • A $500 security deposit is required to cover any damage.

    This amount will be deducted on the day of your arrival and returned to you within three days of your departure.

  • To book your floating cottage stay using a gift card, please contact us by email (allo@boraboreal.com) or by phone (581 880-6429). Please provide us with the following details: your desired location (Quebec or Eastern Townships), the dates of your stay, the desired floating cottage, and the number of people. It is currently not possible to book online using a gift card code.
